Paul Poirier + Associates Architects is a commercial and residential firm located in Santa Barbara on the California Central Coast. Established in 1993, Poirier + Associates combines the strengths and expertise of its principal architect with the support of a highly qualified and dedicated staff, all with expertise in the latest computer drafting and 3D modeling technology. We are dedicated to providing innovative architectural design and the highest quality technical detailing to our clients. Poirier + Associates is also highly committed to implementing sound ecological design concepts and green building products. Poirier + Associates has been awarded recognition for both sustainable design and aesthetic contributions to the community from the Goleta Beautiful, Obispo Beautiful, and Santa Barbara Beautiful organizations. Two of our residential projects received Greenbuilder magazine Home of the Year awards for 2008 and 2013. In addition, numerous projects by Poirier + Associates have been featured in the TSP Parade of Green Buildings and in the Habitat for Humanity Tour of Green Homes in the Santa Barbara area.

Paul Poirier is a registered architect in California, Nevada, and Alabama and a USGBC LEED AP and has been working on the Central Coast since 1984. He is the current chair of the American Institute of Architects California Council Committee on the Environment, and a member of the US Green Building Council National Chapter Steering Committee, as well as a past president of the Santa Barbara chapter of the AIA, past and founding president of the USGBC Central Coast Chapter, and a past AIACC Director. Paul is a founding board member of both the Sustainability Project and the Green Building Alliance, two active Santa Barbara-based environmental organizations, and a contributing author to the TSP Green Building Guidelines project for the County of Santa Barbara. Paul received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, graduating with cum laude honors. His studies abroad in Fontainebleau, France and subsequent travels provided an opportunity to absorb the urban fabric of many European cities. Paul is committed to maintaining the architectural beauty of the Central Coast, while improving the environmental quality and sustainability of our community for future generations.
